The Venue at Waterstone is a North Texas barn venue that offers a one of a kind experience for weddings, intimate country gatherings, or corporate events.

Target audience

Primarily couples between 21 - 25, recent grads that are planning their weddings. They love shopping at places like Restoration Hardware, Anthropolgie and Free People. Vibrant, thoughtful and down-to-earth. Also those looking to hold intimate gatherings or corporation events.

Initial project sketches



The Venue at Waterstone's primary goal is to be a venue that is easily accommodating and straight-forward in order to create beautiful, memorable and stress-free experiences for their clients and guests. With this in mind, I wanted to keep the logo simple and straight-forward, yet beautiful and welcoming.

The hand drawn illustration of the actual barn begins to tell the story of the Venue at Waterstone. This hand drawn feeling makes the brand welcoming and a tad bit rustic. The typography and color palette choices bring in the elegance that is expected for a wedding and event venue. 

The secondary logo with tagline can be used as an accent mark throughout collateral, yet still recognizable as part of the brand due to the typography and barn icon.

Overall, the primary and secondary logo convey an elegant yet welcoming feel with a nod to the Venue's story, appealing to couples or guests looking for a unique, hassle-free venue to hold their next event.




A traditional serif along with a sans-serif create an elegant, timeless feel. The font choices are Mr. & Mrs. Eaves – a little playful nod to the wedding side of things.


A palette of warm hues / gray and blue tones add to the elegant, friendly vibe at the Venue at Waterstone. The blue tone also creates a sense of calm. The color palette reflects a natural inspired and also gender-neutral tone in order to best serve customers looking for a wedding venue or a place to hold an intimate country gathering.




Photography, graphic elements and patterns are a unique opportunity to channel a brand's essence into something that will take the identity to the next level. Through this application, you can envision how the color, type, photography and logo all come together as a cohesive brand. These images are only mockups to help you imagine the brand in context.

Warmer wedding or event imagery can provide a great background element for text or the logo to be overlaid; whether on a mailer or on the Venue's website. The patterns allow for exciting and friendly textures that can be used on things like promotional materials or items at the actual venue. 

Overall, the brand identity reflects a welcoming, timeless and elegant vibe, the same feeling that couples or guests can expect when holding their event at the Venue at Waterstone.
